Dear Strand7 User:

Strand7 Release 3.1.3 (R3.1.3) is now available from the Downloads section of our website.

• R3.1.3 is primarily a quality update to address any issues reported by users since our last release.  However, it also contains some optimisations and performance enhancements.

• R3.1.3 is a free update for all R3.1.x licences.  If you are still using R3.1.1, we recommend that you update your Strand7 installation to R3.1.3, as R3.1.1 will be retired soon.

• R3.1.3 model and results files are bi-directionally compatible with R3.1.2, except for the solver restart files.

• If you are updating from R3.1.2, R3.1.3 will not require a new keycode.

• If you are updating from R3.1.1, R3.1.3 will require a new keycode.

The following new resources are also available now:

1. Strand7 Verification Manual, located in the Documentation/Books section of our website:

This 300 page manual documents a set of test problems used for the verification of the Strand7 solvers.  The tests come from numerous sources, as detailed in the reference section of each chapter.  The Strand7 models for the tests are included in the download.

2. Strand7 API Self-Learning Course, located in the Documentation/Books section of our website:

This course provides an introduction to the Strand7 Application Programming Interface through a number of self-learning exercises and examples.  Microsoft Excel with VBA is used as the development framework.  A version of this course based on Python will be available soon.

3. Webnotes R3 is a new section of our website that launches Webnotes for Strand7 R3:

In the coming months the contents of this section will grow as we convert the R2 Webnotes library into R3 format.  Currently there are three new Webnotes:

• ST7-R3.40.35.50 Insulating Glass Unit with Ideal Gas Cavity;

• ST7-R3.70.20.11 Reaction Multi-Point Link – this Webnote comes with two associated video tutorials;

• ST7-R3.70.60.14 Spectral Response Quantities Summation.
